I am known for being mad enough to chase things (that would in a normal situation scare the bleepers out of people) and have always had this crazy yearn inside of me to want to explore into supernatural phenomenon. I mean the ghost hunts, witch hunts, horrible tales, folklore, live scare shows - you name it, I've seen, done, and practically heard them all! Anyway, I've seen this theatre show advertised everywhere across London for a while now and finally got the chance to check it out.
Ghost Stories is currently still running at the Duke of York theatre in London's west end and tickets can be purchased at www.ghoststoriestheshow.co.uk so be sure to check it out!
From my personal experience the show was not as frightening as I had anticipated it to be, however the stories are chained together brilliantly well. The actors were amazing and the show was well constructed to play on most people's fears. I won't give away too much because you really have to judge for yourself! In terms of psychological damage, I reckon I'll be ok. Movies such as The Haunting in Connecticut, Paranormal Activity and Mirrors still play on my personal fears however as this is a live theatre, given just how much you are able to work with I think they did well to play on our generic fear of death. The show focuses on three main stories and leaves you to be the judge on just how much you may want to believe...
